Volunteering at the Zoo is a rewarding experience whether you have some spare time or you are wanting to gain experience in this industry

Here at the Zoo, we are excited to be opening up our doors to volunteers again. It has been a difficult few years, however, we are fighting strong and we are looking for enthusiastic and commited individuals to help us to continue to deliver our message.

Volunteering with Animals

Our animal keeping section often has rare opportunities to volunteer alongside our keepers.

These positions are for those who are looking to gain experience within the industry alongside gaining animal-related qualifications.

If you are interested in any of the above activities, we are holding several Volunteer Open Days here at the Zoo.

These days will give you an opportunity to learn more about the opportunities available and what they involve. It will also give us a chance to meet you and have an informal chat about your needs.

We have limited availability for these dates, so you will need to pre-book with us to attend.

If you are interested, you will need to fill out a short questionnaire before attending.

The dates we currently have available are:

Tuesday, 24th May: 9am-10am
Saturday, 28th May: 3:30pm - 4:30pm
Friday 10th June: 9:30 - 10:30
