Northumberland Country Zoo Looking Forward to Snow This Christmas

Northumberland Country Zoo Looking Forward to Snow This Christmas

They say good things come to those who wait, and while the team at Northumberland Country Zoo had been excitedly preparing for the arrival of two female snow leopard cubs this coming November, we have taken the call to delay the move for a month, and will now welcome these enigmatic and beautiful big cats to our collection at the very beginning of December. What a fantastic early Christmas present!

Rehoming operations can often take slightly longer than expected and while we had hoped to receive the girls from Scotland’s RZSS Highlands Wildlife Park next week, we have shifted the move and are working with the team north of the border to put things in place for the new December dateline.

Their arrival into a new, purpose-built enclosure will make Northumberland Zoo the first and only place in the north east to boast snow leopards as part of its collection.

Once they have had the chance to settle and acclimatise to their new surroundings, we can’t wait to give you an unprecedented chance to get up close and learn more about these beautiful creatures.
