Moth Night will begin at 10.00pm
After the success and amazing findings of our very first Moth Night, we're pleased to announce that we will be holding another one on Saturday 22nd July. Head down to the zoo at night and help us in catching and identifying different moths species!
In Britain alone, there are over 2,500 different species of moth and although a lot of people overlook them, moths play a major part in our biodiversity and are extremely important to our ecosystem.
Moths affect many other different species of wildlife as well as having a great impact on plants by eating their leaves and contributing to seed production through pollinating flowers.
Similarly to butterflies, monitoring moth numbers and ranges help us understand more about the changes in our environment, such as the effects of air pollution, climate change and pesticides.
