Now you may have heard, or noticed yourself, that we’ve been undergoing some changes in 2017...
Yes, we have a new name, Northumberland Country Zoo, but we are still the same people with the same goals - just more memorable!
As well as changes to our name and branding, our animal park has undergone some changes too, with more to come later in the year!
We have already opened a new Wallaby walk-through exhibit, allowing our visitors to get even closer to the Bennett’s Wallabies. 2017 has also seen us obtaining our first endangered species – the ring-tailed lemur. These lemurs as well as the red fronted lemurs are going to be a part of Northumberland’s first ever Lemur Walk-Through exhibit – opening soon!
This year has been exciting and busy so far and we are not done yet! We will announce plans for a brand new, custom-made children's play area soon, which will allow our younger visitors to burn off some energy after seeing the animals! We will also be gradually introducing more animal encounters and of course, more new animals!
We want to say a big thank you to all of our visitors who have been there from the start, to all of those who have only recently discovered us, and a thank you in advanced for those who are still to come!
We have big visions for the future as we want to become the next major zoological collection in this area - giving visitors the opportunity to bridge the gap between their everyday lives and the wild world around them. We are excited for this journey - we hope you are too! And with that said, we would like to say goodbye to Eshottheugh Animal Park and hello to Northumberland Country Zoo!
