Puffins and Eiders

We run two different groups for home educators every month:

• Puffins: for ages 5-10 (or those interested in less focussed activities).

• Eiders: for ages 10-15 (or those interested in more in-depth, focussed activities).

Sessions are on Wednesdays and include a mixture of indoor and outdoor practical activities all about nature, wildlife, and the outdoors.

Spaces on our Puffins and Eiders sessions are released to our mailing list a few weeks before each session date and are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

If you are interested in attending our Puffins or Eiders sessions for home educators, and wish to be added to our mailing list to receive the session sign up links, please get in touch using the contact form at the bottom of this page.

Open Days

Open Days run from 10:30 - 13:30 and involve a chance to explore the zoo in your own time, and attend optional drop in activities.

The days are for those who have not been able to get a space on our more regular Puffins and Eiders sessions, or for people who have not yet attended a home education event at the zoo, and would like to find out more about what we offer.

Upcoming Open Days:

• Friday 4th December 2026

If you would be interested in attending one of these days, please fill in the contact form at the bottom of this page.
