Puffins and Eiders

We run two different groups for home educators every month:

 

• Puffins: for ages 5-10 (or those interested in less focussed activities).

• Eiders: for ages 10-15 (or those interested in more in-depth, focussed activities). 

 

Sessions include a mixture of indoor and outdoor practical activities all about nature, wildlife, and the outdoors.

Spaces on our Puffins and Eiders sessions are released to our mailing list a few weeks before each session date and are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Open Days

 

Open Days run from 10:30 - 13:30 and involve a chance to explore the zoo in your own time, and attend optional drop in activities.

​

The days are for those who have not been able to get a space on our more regular Puffins and Eiders sessions, or for people who have not yet attended a home education event at the zoo, and would like to find out more about what we offer.

Optional drop in activities on September's open day will include (weather depending) zoo orienteering, meeting minibeasts, how to design an animal enclosure, conducting animal behaviour studies, and an animal objects touch table.

Prices​

Children attending any of our home education events must be accompanied by an adult. 

​

Prices for all our events for home educators are:

• £7.95 per child

• £9.95 for one accompanying adult per child

• Additional adults must pay our full admissions price
