Calendar Photography Competition

We know that some of our visitors have got some amazing photography skills and we want to have one of YOUR photos featured on the front cover of our 2025 Northumberland Zoo Calendar.

What do you win?

​

• Your photograph featured on the front of the Northumberland Zoo 2025 calendar.

• A complimentary calendar for you.

• An annual membership to the Zoo/OR an animal encounter of your choice (Capybara, Snow Leopard, Fruit Bat, Tapir, Meerkat, Owl, Donkey)

How will this work?

​

Submission deadline is the 23rd March, 2024.

​

A shortlist of photographs will be selected by the Zoo team and we will hold a public vote to decide the winner of the shortlist via our social media.

​

The winner will be contacted by the end of March 2024.

​

Calendars will be available to pre-order from the Summer.

​

What are we looking for?

 

Images must be in landscape format. Maximum 2 entries per person.

​

Images of our animals doing anything - playing, eating, sleeping, just day-to-day life at the Zoo. The photographs should be unedited and should only contain the animal subject.

 

These images can be comical or more natural, we are looking forward to seeing what you have captured!

Please be vigilant. We will not ask you for card details/banks details, etc, this is a free competition. Entries are accepted in the submission box below.

Competition Rules:

​

• Entries are free.

• Limited to 2 entries per person.

• Photographs must be taken at Northumberland Zoo.

• Photographs must be accompanied by the name of the photographer and submitted by the rightful owner of the image.

• All images must be in Landscape format to be included in the competition, portrait images will be disqualified.

• Open to digital entries only, postal entries/hard copies not accepted. Digital entries to be submitted using the form below.

• The winning photographer will be contacted by the end of March and be asked to submit a short description or story about the image to accompany the calendar.

• There are no cash alternatives to the annual membership or animal encounter.

• All proceeds for the sales of the calendars go towards Northumberland Zoo and the upkeep of the animals

• By submitting images the photographer grants Northumberland Zoo the licence to use/publish/broadcast the photograph in any marketing or other promotional activity including press and other publicity purposes - the owner of the image will be credited in any/all cases.

• Images must be in colour.
